The handbook is released as newly elected members of the European Parliament take up a new legislative mandate. Titled "Serving all European citizens" and geared towards economic and social sustainability, it explains ESBG positions on more than 25 policy areas affecting Europe’s 885 savings and retail banks in 21 countries.
With topics ranging from prudential to digital themes, and from sustainable finance to financial education issues, the handbook covers a wide spectrum of subjects that affect financial services in Europe.
Along with detailed positions and background to feed into the latest legislative policy debate, it also presents facts and figures that demonstrate the impact of a sustainable savings and retail banking model to some 150 million Europeans.
We believe these proposals will help shape a sustainable European financial services structure and we invite you to explore them in more detail in the following chapters.
